  1. UGHHH! Araby is ticking me off! I just don't get the concepts of it. It just seems so pointless to me. I think I can write a better short story, one with a better theme, one that sticks out! I hope other people in class come up with some ideas for our class discussion, otherwise my essay will be empty!

  2. So far, "Six Peices of Severance" is my favotire. I like the P.O.Vs because its different. You're in their heads, hearing their thoughts and their past right before death. I've never read anything like that before. Also, the fact that it is all different people from different backgrounds in different situations.

  3. I agree with Jorie, I really liked six pieces because it is so different and emotionally touching. But I also really liked "The Red Carpet" and "The Necklace" because they talk about society and how people act and why they do. It just seems to fit society analysis to a tee, by the relationship between the poor chauffeur and the rich woman. Also with the "poor" women who needs to fit into the wealthy society and look good, she is never satisfied and she ends up getting any wealth she had getting taken away, for something that was just fake wealth, the necklace.

  4. My favorite piece to write on was The Necklace by Guy de Maupaussant. I enjoyed writing for two reasons. One, being able to say Guy de Maupaussant. It is a fantastic name, and one that should be more trendy in our society.

The second reason is that I was easily able to comprehend the essay and find the literary devices used in the story. I found it easy to write about, and consequently enjoyed writing about it.
